While you have the freedom and right to visit anywhere you please, you’ll have a much better experience visiting somewhere where people welcome you with open arms.
As a black woman traveler, I want to feel safe and welcome when I see the world. And I know you do as well. So, I’m giving you the best black friendly countries to travel to.

Best Black Friendly Countries to Travel to in 2024
France
France is the first country on the list of best travel destinations for black travelers. Paris, France, in particular, is the best city to visit. However, there are other safe cities in France, like Nice.
But don’t just take my word for it. In the 1920s, several famous black artists like James Baldwin, Richard Wright, and Josephine Baker left the States to live in Paris for many years. They were respected as individuals, and their creative genius was able to thrive in the Parisian culture.
And still, to this day, Paris is a hot spot for black travelers and one of my favorite European cities.
Morocco
Morocco is another excellent destination I would consider adding to your list of black vacation spots – 2024. Morocco has a blend of cultures and religions. With so much diversity, you can most definitely expect a warm reception.

Brazil
Not only is Brazil a fantastic place to visit, but it is also one of the top black vacation spots – 2024. Brazil is actually the only country outside of Africa with the highest population of Africans. So, you can be assured you will feel welcome in Brazil!
Heck, you might feel so welcome that you might not come back…😅
Besides the attraction of being around others who look like you, Brazil has Carnival, gorgeous beaches, and delicious food. And if you’re feeling extra adventurous, you can tour the Amazon rainforest.
Portugal
Portugal is another one of my favorites. With a mix of people from all over, delicious food, and gorgeous views, Portugal has also become a favorite for many black travelers.

Canada
Next is Canada, one of the safest places for black families to travel. Canada is considered one of the most progressive countries in the world. Plus, the country has a large Ethiopian population. So, naturally, Canada has become a top destination for black travelers.
The food is delicious, the people are friendly, and the activities are endless. So yes, it may be cold during certain months, but it is definitely worth the visit.

Thailand
Next on the list of best black friendly countries to travel to is Thailand. This is the place if you’ve ever wanted to visit an Asia country. Beautiful beaches, friendly people, and yummy food await you in Thailand.
Thai people are especially friendly to black women, making Thailand an excellent destination for black solo female travelers.

Japan
Japan is another country famous for being one of the best travel destinations for black travelers. Historically, Japan has been fascinated by Black Culture, which you can still see evidenced today.
As someone from a small, predominantly white town in the South whose go-to music is always country, it’s nice to hear hip-hop music being played in stores and clubs you visit. So, black travelers will most definitely feel welcome in Japan. Plus, Japan is considered one of the safest countries in the world.
Iceland
Believe it or not, Iceland is a fantastic destination for black travelers.
Now, why should you visit? Iceland has insane scenery that will literally take your breath away. The country has everything from volcanoes and glaciers to black-sand beaches and stunning mountains. And you can’t forget about the northern lights!
So, if you’re an outdoorsy adventure traveler, you will LOVE Iceland. Or if you want a peaceful escape into nature, this is the place for you.
Singapore
Lastly, Singapore is one of the best black-friendly countries to travel to. This country is also among the world’s safest (and cleanest), so I highly recommend it for solo travelers and families.
Plus, Singapore has a mix of all types of cultures, which shows how accepting they are of other cultures. This is something I always find attractive when selecting somewhere to visit.
Additionally, Singapore is known for its futuristic architecture, showcased in its stunning skyscrapers and apartment buildings. The city also has a wide array of yummy eateries, from expensive Michelin-star restaurants to cheap street food.
Note: Singapore is more on the expensive side; however, you can definitely explore the city on a budget.
